A great day out – news from the joint AccessPay SWIFT eventAccessPay Marketing
A couple of months ago you may have read news of the AccessPay and SWIFT agreement, where AccessPay became first in the market to offer a cloud-based payments and cash management application with SWIFT messaging connectivity fully integrated.
To celebrate this exciting new partnership, we held a special joint event with SWIFT on the morning of Tuesday 26th November.
Three of the best at SWIFT HQ – our keynote speakers
Keynote speeches can really make – or break – an event, so we focused on getting the best guests available. Our hard work (and lots of pleading) eventually paid off, and we were able to sign-up three very talented speakers:
- Ian Moyse (Cloud Industry Forum Governance Board Member)
presented ‘The real reasons you cannot ignore cloud in your business’.
- Harcus Copper (Global Channel Head, SWIFTNet Corporate Access, Barclays) presented ‘SWIFT connectivity for corporate customers’.
- Nicky Bowman (Strategic Partnership & Channels Manager, AccessPay)
presented ‘Payments in the cloud: a brave new world’.
Invitations were sent, confirmations received, name badges printed, and before we knew it – the big day was upon us.
SWIFT HQ, Tuesday 26th November
8:30 for 9am. A reasonably early start as it was a morning-only event. Just time for a coffee and a quick chat before kick-off.
By 9:15am it was great to see a busy roomful of people (in fact, we needed extra chairs!) as the event got going proper with Ian’s speech. Ian’s brisk and faultless delivery saw him whip through 52 slides in 30 minutes. Our invited audience was keen to get involved, with about 20 minutes of insightful questions. Then time for a well-deserved coffee break.
Nicky and Harcus’s speeches followed the same pattern as Ian’s; interesting content impeccably delivered, then questions from a lively and attentive audience.
With the speeches over, almost all the guests stayed for lunch and discussions ran on for some time, with the AccessPay team (including our CEO and Sales Director) fielding lots of questions, particularly on our partnership with SWIFT.
Gracious hosts and a great audience
SWIFT were very gracious hosts, and took care of everything from the hospitality to the name badges – not forgetting the provision of the actual SWIFT network.
As well as being a great networking opportunity (and very pleasant way to spend a Tuesday morning), the event delivered some key insights:
- How cloud technology can make businesses more agile and adaptable to change.
- How payment processes can be improved with a cloud-based solution.
- The latest SWIFT initiatives and connectivity options for businesses.
Final thoughts? Well, in addition to great guest speakers and wonderful hosts, we learnt that the audience is just as important in making a memorable event. Thanks to everyone who attended, and we look forward to seeing you again (we’ve got a number of exciting events planned in 2014).
Were you at this event? We’d love to hear from you – leave a comment and let us know what you thought of the day!
