FinTech Lunch Welcomes AccessPay

AccessPay’s status as a household name in the Manchester FinTech scene has been recognised, having been invited to Pro-Manchester’s FinTech Lunch.

The event, taking place on Friday 24th September, aims to address Manchester’s pivotal role as a powerhouse in the £11bn industry.

Through discussions of cloud technology, cash management, payment automation and more, the AccessPay team will share the ways in which revolutionising corporate banking will provide a boost to local businesses.

Business & Bites

The hustle and bustle of both the city itself and the growing FinTech scene will be squeezed tightly into Deansgate’s INNSiDE, with the lunch taking place from 12:00 to 15:30.

Split into three panels, each section of the upcoming event will explore some of the most pressing – and trending – talking points in the industry.

The ‘International’ panel will consider the reliability of globalism in a post-Brexit Britain, questioning whether politics can keep up with advances in technology and considering how the future looks for UK fintechs.

‘Co-opetition’, on the other hand, will address the transition from embedded finance to embedded FinTech and the necessity for agile banking specialists. True collaboration and healthy competition can lead to further innovations in tech, deeper integrations, and ultimately better services for customers.

“What more needs to be done?” is what the final panel of the day – titled ‘Academia and FinTech – Driving Innovation’ – asks, tabling notions such as dedicated FinTech qualifications and other suggestions for the leaders of tomorrow.

Pro-Manchester: Who’s Organising?

Governed by a non-executive Board of Directors, Pro-Manchester is the organiser of the FinTech Lunch, as well as being the largest business development organisation in the North West, connecting companies across Greater Manchester for over 35 years.

Their aim is to stay ahead of an ever-growing business landscape by creating partnerships and sharing knowledge.

In addition to AccessPay, other members span various sectors and industries, such as The University of Manchester, Forever Manchester, Barclays, HSBC, Yorkshire Bank, Slater & Gordon, EY and more.

AccessPay’s Part

AccessPay will be participating in the first of the FinTech Lunch’s offerings: the ‘International’ panel.

Specifically, Head of Enterprise Sales Tom Livock will speak, touching on his ongoing expertise with payment automation, cash management and cloud technology.

Having helped the team to win SWIFT’s Global Payments Innovation industry challenge in 2017, there is no one more qualified to opine upon both Manchester’s tech scene and AccessPay’s place within it.

“We are really excited to join the Pro Manchester event”, said Tom, “especially as the session is focused on promoting the FinTech industry in the North West and Manchester.”

“As AccessPay comes from proud northern stock, we use local resources such as Northern Coders and the local universities to find new talent. This helps the local community, and from a career perspective, accelerates those people to become global experts.”
